Lourens ‘Rendierman’ Reinalda (1999) is a multifaceted artist who can often be found hugging trees or taking apart camera-equipment. As a lover of the performing arts and language, he’s done voice-over work for a multitude of projects and has an affinity for virtual spaces and thinking out of the box.
During high school one of my friends had a hard time remembering my last name and put me in her phone as ‘Lourens Rendier’ instead (’Rendier’ being ‘Reindeer’ (Rangifer Tarandus) in Dutch), which I found cool. Around that same time I changed my instagram-handle to @lourendier (combining my nickname ‘Lou’ and ‘Rendier’) which then proceeded to be misunderstood by almost everyone for many years. Finally sick of having to explain my alias and inspired by fellow artist and friend @spooky_lyle, who nicknamed me Rendierman, I have been ‘Rendierman’ ever since.
